Inspired by the ever changing beauty of the seasons, Loralee Chapleau's work is an expression of nature's vibrancy. As a young girl, Loralee was impressed by the dramatic changes wrought by natures work, as green Summer leaves turned yellow, crimson, hazel, and every color in between with the advent of Autumn. Though far from her native Vermont, she carries her enthusiasm for nature in her heart and expresses it through the vivid colors in her art. 
 
Loralee strives to present emotions with every stroke of the brush. She feels that plein air painting enables her to convey all the sensations of nature and daily life in her work by combining the sounds and aromas with the sights. This produces paintings overflowing with texture and motion. For Loralee, anything from a rugged ocean view to a morning stroll through the city can lend itself to a painting.

Recently Loralee has turned her attention toward abstraction.  Drawing from experiences and recollections, she enjoys exploring the inner landscape of memory, emotion, and the subconscious. Thinking of the viewer as a co-collaborator, she invites the observer to participate on a journey of imagination.
 
Loralee collaborates with designers to create custom, one of a kind pieces for their client's homes and offices. Her work can be found internationally. She goes to great lenghts to realize a designer's vision onto canvas. Custom sizes, colors, and configuration are all part of her expertise. No canvas is too large. She doesn't shy away from changes or challenges, and will work extensively with you or your designer to make the right piece for you.
